<p>This chapter draws on interviews with academics who have demonstrated intellectual leadership by speaking out in public about the neo-liberalisation of higher education. The author draws on his own experience as a senior leader in an English university, 2007 - 2014, to describe efforts he made with other academics, students and activists to subvert neoliberal higher education policy</p>
