Contentious politics in the EU

Contentious politics in the EU takes a variety of forms, from the highly visible mass protests holding European Councils to siege to apparently banal petitions. The chapter provides an overview of the contentious politics that has targeted the EU since the beginning of the millennium, describing specific cases and actors to illustrate the different forms of contentious politics that have arisen at various combinations of territorial levels.
