Giving perspective and direction: Judge Weeramantry's contribution to international law

<p>It is an honour and privilege to be asked to contribute a collection of writings to mark the ninetieth birthday of HisExcellency, Judge Christopher Weeramantry. It allows me to send my best wishes, of course, but more than that it provides me with an opportunity to reflect again on his belief in, his influence on, and his legacy to international law. My academic career has intersected with the work and, occasionally, the life of Judge Weeramantry on a number of discrete occasions.</p>
