Debates in interiors theory and practice.Design learning in a new university context.Our paper addresses the recent and ongoing chances which are impacting on design education as is experienced it in the context of a new university The questions we have asked ourselves revolve around the maintenance and enhancement of a positive learning environment in the light of:• Increasing student numbers in the context of a static resource model• Changing abilities and expectations of incoming students • Collaborative initiatives with sister programmes • New and emerging technologies and the future learning landscape The paper will cover these topics and is organised around three areas of enquiry, namely the Recent past, Current practice and Future possibilities.
