Reflections on cross-currents of Russian conservatism

The chapter discusses the evolution of various strands of Russian conservatism from nineteenth century onwards. It selects the two most important conservative strands: liberal and statist. The chapter examines how these two strands of Russian conservatism evolved over time and how they manifest in contemporary Russian society.
