Personal and professional development through philanthropy and volunteering: the Green Gecko project

<p>This presentation outlined a final year event management project undertaken by Tourism,Hospitality and Event Management students at the University of Central Lancashire. Students are tasked with raising money for the charity project ‘Green Gecko’ – set up in 2005 to support street children in Siem Reap, Cambodia - and allows these final year undergraduates to: 1) Learn organization, planning and management skills, 2) Develop communication, problem-solving and decision-making capability, and 3) Enhance team work skills</p>
