Quantifying the planarity of the field hockey hit

<p>A method has been developed for quantifyingthe planarity of the motion of a selectedlandmark. The application of this approach tothe field hockey hit indicates that the curvedpath followed by the center of the stickface isvery close to planar for all, or almost all, ofthe downswing.</p>
