A solo exhibition at the Gutman Library Gallery, Philadelphia, USA. The exhibition formed part of a programme of international exhibitions. The work was made up of a selection of original collages and limited edition gyclee prints. These varied in size from 100mm X 100mm to 50mm X 50mm. The idea behind the creation of the work was to comment upon the transient nature of media information and associated visual saturation of contemporary culture. The work was especially produced for the exhibition and drew influence from the artist’s own collection of pop culture artefacts. Carefully considered reconfigurations of text, magazine imagery, colour pigment, and paint were the basis of a visual dialogue between artist and viewer. Fundamental to the work is the relationship between the mass of visual material consumed everyday and its effect upon the consumer. The exhibition was accompanied by a lecture by the artist. Catalogue - ISBN 1-905527-06-3Series of 20 collages and limited edition prints that draw upon collected visual ephemera of contemporary culture. Work explored the use of found imagery, Polaroid photographs, printed textures, words, and dry letter transfer. The resulting reconfigurations speak of the visual language of mass-produced advertising imagery. The exhibition consisted of 20 individual pieces and formed part of Philadelphia University’s programme of exhibitions.
