Artconcept is an annual event in St. Petersburg. Two video works, ‘Fur Kiss’ and ‘Speechless Acts’ were selected for this international exhibition for the section called ‘Video-None video’. The video ‘Fur Kiss’ is a monitor-based work of one-minute duration. This video depicts collaboration with my dog, Woofer, and aims to address culturally specific structures for behaviour between humans and dogs. ‘Speechless Acts’ is a video work of six minutes duration, comprising three live actions to camera produced by the mouth, which was projected for exhibition at this event. Artconcept 2005 also included the works of internationally renowned artists Cristo and Jean-Claude, and Joseph Beuys. A black and white catalogue accompanied the show. The piece Fur Kiss has also been extensively exhibited at (amongst others); Il Giardino Segreto exhibition, Primo Piano LivinGallery, Lecce, Italy, 10th-31st March 2007 (catalogue and website www.primopianogallery.com), B-Sides Upgrade! International Festival, Oklahoma City, USA, 01st March 2006 (www.mediascot.org), Beauty and the Beast exhibition, Fieldgate Gallery, London, 08th September-01st October 2006 (www.fieldgategallery.com, and review by Steve Smith in Golgonooza, 08th September 2006), SSA on Screen touring exhibition, Scotland, 2006 (www.s-s-a.org/2006/screen/screen), and Independent Exposure Microcinema International touring, USA and Asia, 2005-currently (www.microcinema.com ). The piece Fur Kiss is also being currently re-developed to include three additional canine breeds.
