The paper makes an analysis of rural tourism market development with the presentation of the mainplayers in the European rural tourism. The methodology used is based on the synthesis of information fromarticles and studies published in specialty journals, in Government documents as well as in otherdevelopment strategies on tourism and rural space. The results of this scientific research study reconfirm thatrural tourism promotion and development are based on the existing tourism potential and also on theinvolvement of governmental and non governmental institutions.
