Architectural ghosts and their senses

The article deals with architecture as a catalyst for sensual experience. It refers to two architectural theories which clashed throughout the 20th century – minimalism, which started with Adolf Loos and Mies van Der Rohe, and the idea of architecture as a trigger of all sensual experience. Is this only a matter of taste or could this aspect of architecture be analysed in a more objective way? Examples of Peter Zumthor’s buildings give evidence that designing for all senses should be part of architectural curriculum.
