Imagine what we could do with the money we spend on entering awards and attending ceremonies. Imagine the difference we could make, not having to break the bank carpet bombing awards to win a light bulb or pencil. Many designers feel disillusioned by the amount of award schemes that are endorsed by the design industry. Do they lead to new business? Debatable. Are they a true measure of creativity? Not necessarily. So why are there so many schemes? Why the variations in entry fees? Why the need to spend, spend, spend?
