<p>Comments on the judgment in J v Austria (58216/12) (ECtHR) on whether Austria failed in breach of ECHR art.4 to fulfil its obligations towards the applicants as alleged victims of human trafficking, following their recruitment in the Philippines and alleged exploitation in Dubai. Highlights the case's significance in confirming the state's investigative duty under art.4 and clarifying its scope, noting the different judicial opinions expressed.</p>
