The 10 Essential Shared Capabilities (ESC) are adescription of the core aspects of practice thatsupport effective implementation and delivery ofmental health care. The ESC have been deriveddirectly from work with users, carers and mentalhealth personnel. To support their introduction alearning pack was developed giving examples of the10 ESC as they relate to current practice.A pilot programme across England was developedto test the acceptability and potential utility of thesematerials and this paper reports on the evaluation ofthat pilot programme. Facilitators (n=75) and learners (n=579) were asked to rate each of the seven modulescontained in the learning pack. A number ofrecommendations have been made to improve the materials that are being acted upon.
