The Game Catcher is an innovative motion tracking research tool and computer game, produced with the twin aims of a) creating a new form of tool to assist and augment field research into children’s games, particularly the embodied movement of playground games and activities and b) developing a new form of computer game that, unlike existing ones with their constraints, allows unrestricted recording/creation and modification of movement-based content. The application itself does not have to be confined to children’s play and therefore has numerous other potential uses in, for example, dance, drama, musical performance, sports etc.
